Dr Michael Cooke BDSc. (QLD)
Dr Michael Cooke graduated from the University of Queensland and has since worked almost exclusively in Holland Park. Michael spent some of his working career in the UK working in a large London practice and, most importantly, it was there he met his wife Jane. They have two daughters, Rachel and Anna. Michael likes the variety that general dental practice offers, and particularly enjoys the everyday interaction with his patients. |
Dr Cathy Findlay BDSc. (QLD)
Dr Cathy Findlay is a University of Queensland Graduate. Cathy has also completed the Progressive Orthodontic Seminar series enabling eligible patients to receive orthodontic treatment in house. Cathy practices all aspects of general dentistry and is passionate about oral health awareness in children, visiting local kindergartens to promote oral health awareness in the community. Cathy has a gentle and informative approach in her treatment of patients and will always greet patients with a smile! Cathy practices part time allowing spending her time away from work volunteering at school for her sons, William and Harry. To ensure we are available throughout the whole week, we have a few permanent part time dentists who job share with Cathy. |
Dr Isabel Leong BDSc. (Hons) (QLD)
Dr Isabel Leong graduated from the University of Queensland with Honours and was also awarded the Dental Board of Queensland Prize in Oral Medicine and Oral Pathology. Isabel has a special interest in Endodontics as well as cosmetic dentistry. Since graduating Isabel has worked in the private sector in Brisbane, being in one location for over 9 years. Isabel has found it so rewarding to look after the dental needs of her patients from before they commenced school into their teenage years! Outside of Dentistry, Isabel enjoys miniature dollhouse modelling, playing the piano and travelling to various places around the world. A journey highlight was Iceland where Isabel observed the Aurora Borealis! |
Dr Jelena Vlacic BDSc. (Hons, QLD) PhD (QLD)
Dr Jelena Vlacic graduated from the University of Queensland with her Bachelor of Dental Science, receiving first class honours. She went on to pursue further studies, and was awarded her Doctorate of Philosophy (PhD) following esteemed international reviews. This further lead to a Post-Doctoral research fellowship role in the field of Dental Implantology. She has presented at both national and international conferences and has noted publications in highly respected journals (Biomaterials Journal, British Dental Journal, Australian Dental Journal, Book chapters). Jelena has also been a Clinical Supervisor for dental students at the University of Qld Dental School. She is a member of the Australian Dental Association, member and past president of Cadmus Study Club, an ITI (International Team for Implantology) member and a past assessor for ADRF (Australian Dental Research Foundation) and ARC (Australian Research Council) grants. She is a Chair of her son’s School Board and also a consulting member for an ADAQ committee. With extensive experience practicing dentistry throughout Brisbane and wider areas, Jelena is very passionate about all aspects of dentistry. She is highly regarded in the profession and community for her gentle and engaging nature, delivering the highest quality of dentistry in a welcoming and informative environment. Outside of dentistry, Jelena spends all her free time with her family and close friends. She has a passion for languages, travel and is an avid reader. She is fluent in Serbian, has studied Spanish, Japanese and Chinese (Mandarin, simplified) at IML, UQ. |
Dr Grace Sha BDSc (Melb)(Hons)
Graduating as the top student of her year from the University of Melbourne in 2009, Grace commenced her dental career in Sydney. Eventually returning to her hometown of Brisbane, Grace worked in private practice, as well as working part time for a few years as a sessional supervisor at the Griffith University, School of Dentistry. Dr Grace's gentle and caring manner has helped many anxious patients overcome their fears of dental treatment. Grace enjoys all aspects of general dentistry, with a keen interest in prevention, children’s dentistry, crowns and bridges, and oral surgery. Committed to keeping up to date, Grace has been an active member of the Australian Dental Association and has completed many continuing education courses. Grace has been the President of Southside Dental Study Club since the end of 2022. A firm believer in prevention being better than a cure, Dr Grace empowers her patients with knowledge regarding their oral health and ways to prevent problems from arising. Grace thoroughly communicates procedures and personalized treatment options, enabling patients to make informed decisions about their health. When she isn't in the dental clinic, Grace volunteers with not-for-profit organizations locally as well as overseas. She enjoys photography, traveling, dancing, music and art, as well as spending quality time with friends and family over good food. |
Hygienists
We are proud to have Joanna Crowe and Kateryna Sukhanova as our dental hygienists.
Their role is to educate and motivate patients towards better oral health. Working from our Rainforest Room, they'll do their best to ensure you have an enjoyable experience and will help you to leave our practice with a shining smile.
Available Monday to Thursday, our Hygienists work closely with Dr Cathy Findlay, Dr Isabel Leong and Dr Michael Cooke.

Joanna Crowe
Jo graduated with an Associate Diploma in Dental Hygiene in 1995 in Adelaide. She has worked in Adelaide and Cairns before relocating to Brisbane to raise her family. Jo has worked at Holland Park Family Dental Practice since 2000 in a part time capacity and like to make patients feel relaxed and comfortable in their preventative care. |
Kateryna Sukhanova
Since high school Kateryna pictured herself in a healthcare industry and for that reason she picked a career in dentistry. She completed a Bachelor of Applied Health Science (Oral Health) in 2007, graduating from the University of Queensland and has since worked as a dental hygienist and oral health therapist. The Holland Park Family Dental team welcomed Kateryna toward the end of 2017. Kateryna works alongside our dentists, with her main focus on preventative dentistry, which she believes is the key to a healthy and beautiful smile. Kateryna actively learns about new developments and research in dentistry through continuing professional development. Outside of work Kateryna enjoys travelling and discovering new places around the world and within Australia as well as experiencing new cultures and cuisines. She also keeps herself busy by doing watercolour art classes and hikes on the weekends. |
