Holland Park Family Dental Practice dentists are fully qualified and registered professionals with the Australian Dental Board.

Dr Michael Cooke BDSc. (QLD)
Dr Michael Cooke graduated from the University of Queensland and has since worked almost exclusively in Holland Park. Michael spent some of his working career in the UK working in a large London practice and, most importantly, it was there he met his wife Jane. They have two daughters, Rachel and Anna. Michael likes the variety that general dental practice offers, and particularly enjoys the everyday interaction with his patients.

Dr Cathy Findlay BDSc. (QLD)
Dr Cathy Findlay is a University of Queensland Graduate. Cathy has also completed the Progressive Orthodontic Seminar series enabling eligible patients to receive orthodontic treatment in house. Cathy practices all aspects of general dentistry and is passionate about oral health awareness in children. Cathy has a gentle and informative approach in her treatment of patients and will always greet patients with a smile! Cathy practices part time allowing her to have some quality family time with her two sons, William and Harry. To ensure we are available throughout the whole week, we have a few permanent part time dentists who job share with Cathy.

Dr Isabel Leong BDSc. (QLD)
Dr Isabel Leong graduated from the University of Queensland with Honours and was also awarded the Dental Board of Queensland Prize in Oral Medicine and Oral Pathology. Isabel has a special interest in Endodontics as well as cosmetic dentistry. Since graduating Isabel has worked in the private sector in Brisbane, being in one location for over 9 years. Isabel has found it so rewarding to look after the dental needs of her patients from before they commenced school into their teenage years! Outside of Dentistry, Isabel enjoys miniature dollhouse modelling, playing the piano and travelling to various places around the world. A journey highlight was Iceland where Isabel observed the Aurora Borealis!

Dr Hooman Baghaie BDSc. (QLD)
Dr Hooman Baghaie graduated from the University of Queensland with first class honours, after obtaining a Bachelors degree in Oral Health Therapy. He has received a number of clinical and academic awards in his dental degree, including two from the International Pierre Fauchard Academy, as well as being the Valedictorian of his graduating year. Hooman has worked in urban and remote areas, in the public and private settings, and brings a wealth of experience to our practice. Hooman practices a full range of dentistry and he is routinely complemented on his gentle touch and lovely chair-side manners. He is great at really listening to our patients and
giving them something to smile about. He is able to provide dental treatment on Saturdays for
our patients.

Dr Jelena Vlacic-Zischke BDSc. (QLD)
Dr Jelena Vlacic-Zischke graduated from the University of Queensland with her Bachelor of Dental Science, receiving first class honours. She went on to pursue further studies, and was awarded her Doctorate of Philosophy (PhD) in early 2007, in addition to completing a Post-Doctorate research fellowship in the field of Dental Implantology. Dr Jelena has also been a Clinical Supervisor for dental students at the University of Qld Dental School. She is a member of the Australian Dental Association, member and past president of Cadmus Study Club, an ITI (International Team for Implantology) member and a past assessor for ADRF (Australian Dental Research Foundation) and ARC (Australian Research Council) grants. With extensive experience practicing dentistry throughout Brisbane and Ipswich, Dr Jelena is highly passionate about dentistry and prides herself by giving undivided attention to every patient and delivering the highest quality of dentistry. Outside of dentistry, Dr Jelena has a passion for languages, music, travel and is an avid reader. She is fluent in Serbian, has studied Spanish and Japanese, and is currently studying Chinese (Mandarin, simplified) at IML, UQ.

Hygienists
Joanna Crowe and Kateryna Sukhanova are our dental hygienists who play a role in motivating and instructing patients to have the best oral hygiene practices in order to maximise oral health. They are available from Monday - Thursday and work closely with Cathy to ensure all aspects of your dental needs are covered.

Joanna Crowe
Joanna graduated with an Associate Diploma in Dental Hygiene in South Australia, then commenced working for one of Cairns’ busiest dental practice full time until 2000. Joanna joined Holland Park Family dental in 2000 on a casual basis whilst raising two young daughters.

Kateryna Sukhanova
Since high school Kateryna pictured herself in a healthcare industry and for that reason she picked a career in dentistry. She completed a Bachelor of Applied Health Science (Oral Health) in 2007, graduating from the University of Queensland and has since worked as a dental hygienist and oral health therapist. The Holland Park Family Dental team welcomed Kateryna toward the end of 2017. Kateryna works alongside our dentists, with her main focus on preventative dentistry, which she believes is the key to a healthy and beautiful smile.
Kateryna is a member of the Dental Hygienists’ Association of Australia (DHAA) and actively learns about new developments and research in dentistry through continuing professional development. Outside of work Kateryna enjoys spending time with her husband and “fur kids”. They love travelling and discovering new places around the world and within Australia as well as experiencing new cultures and cuisines.

Staff
We have a wonderful team of dedicated staff to assist you whilst you are under our care at Holland Park Family Dental. Our staff have completed a Certificate III in Dental Assisting and receive additional on-the-job training. They are trained in the reception area, and in the sterilising area, as well as in the surgery assisting the dentist for all aspects of dental procedures.
